PAPTEX Paper Machine Clothing Product Line Overview

PAPTEX is a global paper machine clothing supplier, covering all fabric requirements for the three core sections of paper machines.

1. Forming Fabric Series

Forming fabrics are the foundation of sheet formation, determining fiber retention and paper quality.

Single-Layer Fabrics

  • Structure: One set of MD + one set of CD yarns
  • Features: Best drainage (500-800 CFM), lowest FSI (50-80), lowest cost
  • Applications: Low-speed heavy-weight grades, recycled board, simple packaging paper
  • Typical life: 30-60 days

Double-Layer Fabrics

  • Structure: Two sets of CD yarns, one set of MD yarns
  • Features: FSI 80-120, CFM 400-650, moderate cost
  • Applications: Medium-speed culture paper, medium-weight packaging paper
  • Typical life: 45-90 days

Triple-Layer Fabrics

  • Structure: Separate top (fine) and bottom (wear-resistant) weaves, connected by binder yarns
  • Features: FSI 130-200+, CFM 250-500, best overall performance
  • Applications: High-speed culture paper, high-quality packaging, tissue
  • Typical life: 60-150 days

SSB (Sheet Support Binder) Fabrics

  • Advanced triple-layer variant with optimized binder design
  • Features: FSI 150-200+, minimal sheet marking, 30-50% longer life than standard triple-layer
  • Applications: Premium culture paper, high-speed tissue, quality-critical grades

2. Press Felt Series

Press felts remove approximately 30-40% of water in the press section — the most cost-effective dewatering stage.

BOM (Batt-On-Mesh)

  • Mesh base fabric for high void volume and compaction resistance
  • Applications: Shoe presses, high-load nip presses (>300 kN/m)
  • Void volume 20-40% higher than conventional
  • Life 25-40% longer than standard felts

Laminated Press Felts

  • 2-3 base layers for heavy-duty applications
  • High void volume retention under high pressure
  • Applications: High-speed kraft, packaging (V=800-1200 m/min)

Needle Punch Felts (Standard)

  • Single or double base with needle-punched batt fiber
  • Customizable weight: 1100-1800 g/m²
  • Applications: General purpose, medium-low speed machines

3. Dryer Fabric Series

Dryer fabrics maintain sheet contact with dryer cylinders for efficient heat transfer.

Flat Yarn Dryer Fabrics

  • 60-75% contact area, excellent stability
  • Life: 60-180 days
  • Applications: Packaging, culture, kraft paper

Spiral Dryer Fabrics

  • Easier installation, anti-static options
  • Life: 45-100 days
  • Applications: Tissue, complex threading paths

Anti-Static Dryer Fabrics

  • Carbon-filled PA yarns woven into fabric — permanent dissipation
  • Essential for: tissue, lightweight (<60 gsm), high-speed (>1000 m/min)
