
Dryer-fabric life depends on position, temperature, contamination, tension, alignment, seam condition and cleaning practice. Maintenance can reduce avoidable damage, but it does not guarantee a fixed extension for every machine.

Photograph the same positions and record the dryer group, grade and fabric running time so that changes can be trended.
Identify whether the deposit is fiber, filler, pitch, stickies or another contaminant before choosing water, mechanical or chemical cleaning. Cleaning chemistry, concentration, temperature, pressure, nozzle distance and exposure time must follow the fabric supplier, equipment supplier and mill safety procedure. A universal pressure or distance can damage seams or yarns.
Edge wear may originate from alignment, guiding, rolls, stretchers or contact points. Deposits may reflect furnish, ventilation, pocket conditions or ineffective showers. Record one corrective action at a time and compare condition, sheet moisture, steam per ton and downtime with the baseline.
