Chemical Cleaning Protocols by Deposit Type:
CaCO₃ / Fillers:
- Mild acid wash: pH 3-4
- Circulate through shower system or apply as spot treatment
- Thorough rinse after treatment
Organics / Stickies:
- Alkaline wash: pH 10-11 + surfactant
- Never exceed pH 11 — PET degrades under strong alkaline conditions at temperature
Mixed Deposits:
- Alternate acid and alkaline treatments
- NEVER mix acid and alkaline chemicals
- Thorough rinse between treatment types
Recommended Frequency:
- High filler / recycled fiber: Every 2-4 weeks
- Virgin fiber: Every 4-8 weeks
Safety Limits: Never exceed pH 2-11 range. Always verify PET alkali compatibility at your operating temperature.
